PRINCETON – Renovations of the Princeton Walmart Sumer, 2700 West Broadway, are complete with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and celebration featuring vendors, giveaways, food trucks, and a community-inspired celebration by artist Jackie Crofts. An unveiling ceremony for the mural is scheduled for 8 a.m. Friday.
At the gala, Walmart store manager Jadon Payne donated $4,704 to the City of Princeton, $3,196 to Lyles Station Historic Preservation Corporation, $1,500 to Addiction Solutions Corporation, and $1,000 to Isaiah 117 Project to commemorate the grand opening. Give away dollars.
The store’s new mural, designed by artist Jackie Crofts, depicts the Princeton Railroad Depot and Lyles Station Historical Museum, which now serves as a community center. It celebrates community sporting achievements and recognizes the city’s residents.
The mural is part of Walmart’s Community Mural Program, the largest public art installation celebrating communities across the United States.
Highlights of the store transformation include:
• Expanded beer, liquor, bakery and meat selections
• Increased number of self-checkout lanes and manned checkouts
• Expansion and relocation of grocery pickup and new delivery services, adding 20 customer booths
• New apparel displays and mannequins.
• New and expanded products in food, pet, paper, chemicals, HBA, and cosmetics.
• Refreshed pharmacy with new dedicated exam room and privacy checkout lane for pharmacist consultation and services
• New vision center with prescription glasses and sunglasses
• Newly modernized restrooms and new mother’s room providing a clean, comfortable and private option for nursing mothers.
• New pet department products such as Fresh Pets.
• New dollar store at store entrance with seasonal items.
• New takeout section in grocery area offering quick meal and drink options
• New signage including digital polished concrete floors, new vestibule at entrance and new paint inside and out.
