Android users have a lot of choices when it comes to weather apps, but did you know that Google has its own hidden weather app that you can use? This app was recently updated with Material You Design to make it more appealing. It has become more user friendly.
However, it is not a standalone app, but part of Google apps, so you won’t be able to find it on the Play Store. But don’t worry, there is an easy way to install it on your phone. Here’s how:
How to get the hidden Google Weather app
You may have seen Google’s weather widget before. It has a simple and informative user interface and is easy to use. However, it can also take up space on your home screen. If you prefer a more minimalist approach, you can use Google’s Weather app instead.
To get started, you’ll first need to install the Google app. It may already be installed on your Android smartphone. However, in the rare case that this is not the case, you can find it on the Google Play Store.
Once that’s done, follow these steps to get Google’s weather app.
ā Open the Google app and tap the search bar.
ā Type āweatherā and press the search button.
ā Tap the three dots icon in the top right corner of the weather card,[ćć¼ć ē»é¢ć«čæ½å ]Choose.
ā From popup[ćć¼ć ē»é¢ć«čæ½å ]Select to add the Google Weather app to your home screen.
that’s it. Google’s weather app is now installed on your phone. Tap to open to see details like current weather, hourly forecast, 10-day forecast, and more. Alternatively, you can launch it from the At a Glace widget if it’s already on your home screen.
Deleting apps is also easy. This is more of a shortcut than an actual app, so you won’t find it anywhere in the list of installed apps. Instead, just long press the weather app icon and drag it to the trash can icon at the top to delete it.
That said, the actual app may still be in development. According to some reports, Google may be planning to add another entry point for this weather app in the Google Pixel launcher. This may be a Pixel-specific feature, but similar apps may appear on other Android smartphones in the future.
