A variety of Christmas events will be held across Ashtabula County this weekend.
The fifth annual Light Up the Lodge weekend will be highlighted with a tree lighting ceremony Saturday at 7 p.m.
“The atmosphere at the Lodge during the holidays is magical. Our beautiful décor creates the perfect festive atmosphere for our guests to enjoy,” said General Manager of the Lodge & Conference Center at Geneva-on-the-Lake. Charlene Hogan said.
Hogan said Breakfast with Santa will take place on Dec. 9, Dec. 16 and Dec. 23.
“Over the years, the lodge has become a gathering place for families who come from all over the world to spend the holidays together. Horizons offers candlelight dinners on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day,” she said. .
On Friday, the Ashtabula County Extension Office will host Santa at the Ashtabula County Fairgrounds Expo Building from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Food will be available by donation, and crafts and games will also be part of the experience.
The Harpersfield Christmas event will be held at the Harpersfield Administration Building on Saturday from noon to 2 p.m.
“It’s going to be a free drive-thru event that’s open to everyone. It’s put together by the Friends of Harpersfield Park,” Tonia Burkett said.
There will be several stations where cars can stop, she said.
There will also be raffles for gift cards, toys and Christmas dinner baskets, as well as free cookies, coloring books and crayons.
“We have a mailbox where kids can drop off their letters to Santa, and Santa will be there for kids to talk to them,” Burkett said.
There will also be a live Nativity scene sponsored by Regal Vineyards.
