Walmart recently announced that it is doing something new for this year’s North Alabama holiday season. The company said customers can bring used or broken string lights to some stores to be recycled and kept out of local landfills.
Walmart says customers can simply bring their lights to a designated store and place them in collection boxes located by the store’s General Merchandise and Garden Center entrances. We will then work with a recycling center to recycle the lights.
Walmart says all holiday lights are accepted, working or not, including indoor and outdoor strands and bistro/patio lights.
The lights will be accepted through January 7th at participating Walmart stores in the North Alabama area listed below.
