Below is a partial list of some holiday events and happenings scheduled for the coming days in Solano County.
- The American Nutcracker is set in the 1940s. Presented by OnStage Vacaville and the Royal School of Ballet, it will be performed Friday at 7pm, Saturday at 2pm and 7pm, and Sunday at 2pm at the Journey Downtown Theater, 308 Main Street, Vacaville. Tickets: www.onstagevacaville.org
- A tree lighting ceremony will be held Friday in downtown Fairfield from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Mayor Katherine Moy will light the tree at 6:30 p.m. Meet the Grinch who DJed for Christmas. There will be live music, hot cocoa, train rides, pony rides, crafts, photos with Santa, and more. Sponsored by the Fairfield Parks and Recreation Department.
- Bay Area Stage presents “Sherlock Carol,” opening at 8 p.m. Friday, 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 3 p.m. Sunday through Dec. 17 at 515 Broadway St., Vallejo . Tickets: $22 for general public, $20 for seniors and students 62 and older. (707) 649-1053 or visit www.bayareastage.org.
- Morning Sun Herb Farm and Soul Food Farm’s Annual Christmas Fair, Farmers, Artisans, Food, Donkeys, Holiday Cheer Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Soul Food Farm, 6046 Pleasants Valley Road, Vacaville .
- Solano Symphony, Holiday Celebration Concert, Sunday, 3 p.m., Vacaville Performing Arts Theater, 1010 Ulatis Drive. Tickets: Available at the box office or online at www.solanosymphony.org.
- The Solano Chamber Society Choir and Orchestra will perform Handel’s “Messiah” at 7 p.m. Sunday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 350 Stinson Ave., Vacaville. free.
