The Consumer Goods Forum Food Waste Coalition of Action (FWCOA) is a food loss and waste education project aimed at accelerating waste minimization efforts among CGF members and millions of customers. We have launched the #TooGoodToWaste initiative.
FWCOA has created a TooGoodToWaste page with information and resources to share with consumers, and food companies can use the hashtag in consumer campaigns to raise awareness about the environmental impact of food waste. I am being asked to do so.According to the United Nations Environment Program, approximately 17% of food is discarded at the retail store and consumer level, often at home.

We elevate the voices of others for a larger global community of action that makes a difference.ā This is in response to a campaign letter signed on behalf of FWCOA by co-sponsors, Max Kuhne, President and CEO of McCain Foods, and Ken Murphy, Group CEO of Tesco.

We need to do that,ā he said. āThis campaign aims to unite our members to glean actionable insights that can drive faster collective progress. All food companies are committed to We have an important role to play in doing more to minimize food waste across our operations.ā
Other brands and retailers are also making their own efforts to tackle the food waste issue. For example, as part of its efforts to reduce food waste, Full Harvest will expand its online marketplace for commercial buyers in May 2023 to handle all grades of produce, from USDA Grade 1 to surplus and incomplete produce.
