This time of year passes by in the blink of an eye, with so many things happening. If you’re trying to decide where to spend your time and energy, here’s a breakdown of what’s happening around town for the rest of the year, so choose what you want to prioritize!
Tonight (November 27th): Stroll along Church Street
The fun begins at 6 p.m. It’s cold today so please be safe! Santa arrives in a fire truck to light the town’s tree. There is live music, and if you want a photo or meet-and-greet, we usually sit on the porch of the Freeman Store. Vienna Presbyterian Church has crafts and hot chocolate. The town will also install fire pits on each block of Church Street and provide free marshmallows to roast. There is a list of business specials from participating stores along Church Street.find Full list herebut favorites include free hot and sweaty treats along the way, plus a free social media-sized digital photo. Saturday, December 2nd
- Cookies with Santa at the Vienna Community Center: This event is already sold out, but you can join the waiting list. Sign up for future information at Webtrac’s special events next year. Tickets are $5 per person.
Letter to Santa: drop box in the lobby of the Vienna Community Center (or you can also mail it to Vienna Parks and Recreation).Letters must be received by the following deadlines Tomorrow November 28th Make sure you receive your letter from Santa.
Saturday, December 9th
- breakfast with santa At the Vienna Volunteer Fire Department: Breakfast with Santa will be from 8 a.m. to noon, and tickets will be sold at the door (advance tickets were available but are currently sold out). A tip here is that 8 a.m. is usually the least crowded time. If you are an early riser, please take advantage of this. Breakfast includes pancakes, bacon, sausage, orange juice and coffee.
Santa Claus runs with the Vienna Volunteer Fire Department

Maps have become much easier to decipher this year. If you hear loud sirens and blaring music, it must mean Santa is approaching.

James Madison High School Band Tiny Tots Concert
An interactive annual event featuring music, characters, and costumes, it’s great fun for little ones. Many people wear their holiday pajamas. Get your tickets online. Thursday, November 30th 10 a.m., 7 p.m., or Friday, Dec. 1 at 10 a.m.
