RACINE, Wis. (CBS 58) — The Racine Zoo is welcoming the holiday season with a series of festive events. On Monday, November 27th, Executive Director Beth Haydon and Conservation Education Specialist Kathy Sanchez join us to discuss the Zoo’s Holiday Calendar and the Zoo’s commitment to providing an engaging and educational experience. We talked about how it would fit in.
CyBEAR Monday is scheduled to take place on Monday, Nov. 27, and will encourage holiday shoppers to symbolically adopt a zoo animal and support the zoo’s conservation and education efforts. As a special promotion, adopters on Monday will receive his 10% discount and a free stuffed bear celebrating the zoo’s newest addition, Fon the sun bear.
Giving ZOODay on Tuesday, Nov. 28 is a way for the zoo to participate in the #Giving Tuesday initiative, which encourages participation and conservation of species, and invites the public to contribute to the zoo’s mission.
The lineup continues with Brunch with Santa on Saturday, Dec. 2, with two seating options available. While you’re here, enjoy a holiday brunch, craft-making, photo opportunities and other interactions with Santa.
From December 8th to February 18th (excluding December 22nd to 24th), Winter Picnic at the Snowglobe offers a unique outdoor dining experience. Visitors can reserve the heated dome for private gatherings and enjoy food, drinks, and animal interactions.
The series culminates with Holly Jolly Jingle & Mingle on Thursday, Dec. 21, where guests can sample a variety of drinks and hors d’oeuvres, with proceeds supporting the zoo.
