Hanukkah, the eight-day Jewish festival of lights, begins at sunset on December 7th and ends on the evening of December 15th. Of course, Christmas is on December 25th for him, but you don’t have to wait to have it. The sights and sounds of every season.
The lighting of the Morristown Menorah is as follows:
- Morristown will host its annual Hanukkah on the Green celebration on Dec. 13 from 5 to 6 p.m. The free event will feature a menorah lighting, donuts, hot drinks, live music, raffles, gelt and more.

Christmas tree illumination occurs:
- The Morristown Green Christmas Festival began with the arrival of Santa on Nov. 26 at 5 p.m. Family-friendly activities, entertainment, Santa visits and photo ops will take place on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays throughout December until his 17th. This year, residents should look for a green new centerpiece tree, as well as renovated arches and new bows to highlight the city’s wreath. - Jefferson Township Winter Wonderland: Starting at 4 p.m. on Dec. 2, attendees can stroll through a winter wonderland filled with Christmas lights at Camp Jefferson, 81 Weldon Road. This family-friendly event includes shopping, activities, music, Christmas movies, and more.

Holiday Festival House: Enjoy a free, fun holiday festival on December 2 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. inside the library and two neighboring churches on Main Street in Sukkasna. There will be something for everyone, including food vendors, artisans, food and beverages, music, dancers, free activities for kids, Santa, Hanukkah story time, winter-themed crafts and more.
- Festival of trees: The 2023 festival will be held Dec. 2-9 at Highlands Ridge Park, 100 North Road in Chester. “We look forward to seeing the barn come alive with Christmas lights and a beautifully decorated tree next Saturday, December 2nd at 10am,” event organizers said.
