The First United Methodist Church of Killeen has announced several events scheduled for December and is inviting the public to participate.
Journey in the Park to Bethlehem will be held Saturday and Sunday from 4 to 6 p.m. The event begins at the corner of Cunningham Street and East He Elms Road. The “living” village walk experience introduces Bethlehem to what it was like at the time of Jesus’ birth. In addition to animals such as goats and donkeys, there will also be clay potters and authentic basket weavers. Bakers will be making unleavened bread and crafts, including a beading demonstration. The event is free and family-friendly.
The church will hold a Christmas carol lesson during the 9:45 a.m. Sunday service. The church is located at 3501 East Elms Road.
On Dec. 8, the church will host a “Parents Night Out” from 6 to 10 p.m. Reservations are required for children ages 2 to 5th grade. The evening will include crafts, music and games for children. The event is free, but reservations are required by December 2nd.
A family skate night is also planned at the church on Dec. 10 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. The cost is $10 per family and reservations are required. To reserve a space, please contact the church office at 254-634-6363.
