MILTON — After months of planning, a winter wonderland is coming to both Milton and Watsontown in December.
“We get together in January and really start planning in January because it takes a while to get everything,” said Sandy Muscarella of the Milton Winterfest Committee. Ta.
Holidays on Broadway will be held on Dec. 1 from 6 to 9 p.m. and will feature food and craft sales, games and selfie stations. The Toy Run with Santa, Mrs. Claus and the Milton Fire Department will be held from 5 to 7 p.m., with Santa greeting her children in the gazebo at 7 p.m. The annual tree lighting ceremony will also be held on December 1st.
“This year we have added a Christmas card decorating contest for first graders in the Milton Area School District. This year’s actual winner will be announced at the tree lighting ceremony,” Mascarella said. “And we’ve partnered with the Salvation Army, so we’ll have Christmas stories and refreshments on December 4.”
Additional new events include a photo op with Santa on Dec. 8, an Ugly Sweater Party at Bethany United Methodist Church on Dec. 16, a screening of the movie “The Polar Express” on Dec. 18, and Dec. 27. This includes swimming nights for children. at the Milton YMCA.
“We have worked diligently to get this done,” Mukarela said. “Now is the time to come together and celebrate the season. We hope you will create memories for your little ones. We strive to make it bigger and better.”

Watsontown is also fully embracing the holiday spirit by hosting its first-ever Winter Wonderland.
“Never in a million years would I have predicted how much work and planning and what a wonderland it would become. It’s a blessing,” said Watsontown Winter Wonderland Committee member said Committee Chair Shannon Smedley. Committee members also include Joan Miniam and Alicia Fogelman. “I never expected to be able to accomplish so much this year.”
Featuring 85 outside vendors, the winter wonderland begins on Friday, December 1 at 3:45 p.m. on Canal Street with an opening prayer by Rev. Josh Wallace and continues into the evening with a performance by Saxman Ravi of the Warrior Run Concert Choir. Masu. and Pitch Please Carolers. The tree lighting ceremony will be held at the Canal Street Pavilion at 6 p.m. Santa is scheduled to arrive at 6:15 p.m. and will be available for photos until 9 p.m.The 6th annual “Whistle on the Wassell” event will be held at the Watsontown Historical Society Museum from 6 to 9 p.m.
The festivities will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 2, with an opening prayer by Pastor Laura Smith and continue into the afternoon with performances by the Danelle Kressinger Christian Band and DJ Tom Starks. The Borough of Watsontown will also host five sponsored events, including a candy machine, a build-a-bear station, face painting, a Mr. Stick Stick Bread Sale and a poinsettia sale. Attendees can also expect appearances from Mrs. Claus and Frosty the Snowman.
“We are also hosting a Christmas tree raffle where three beautiful artificial Christmas trees decorated with gift cards will be lit,” Smedley said, noting that each tree is worth about $1,000.

Throughout the month of December, the Watsontown Area Business Association (WABA) will also be organizing a variety of holiday activities. On Friday, December 8th, the Caravan of Lights through Watsontown will be held from 5:30pm to 6:30pm, and photos with Santa will be available from 6:30pm to 8:30pm. Jim McClincy and Special Delivery will present a performance of bluegrass music from 6:30 to 7:15 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church.
Santa will be available for photos and visitors on Saturday, Dec. 9 from 1-3 p.m., and a musical Christmas by Leo Armbruster will be held at First Presbyterian Church from 1-1:30 p.m. In the afternoon, Kingdom Kidz will be offering a free Christmas doll program from 1-4 p.m.
The McNetts will perform “A Country Christmas” in the Watson Inn’s Moon Room on Friday, Dec. 15 from 6:30 to 8:15 p.m. Later that night, from 6:30pm until 8:30pm, Santa will appear to visitors, and from 5:30pm until 8:30pm, Santa will visit his Kids Kingdom offering pizza, games, and model train gifts. On Sunday, Dec. 16, Santa will be available for photos with visitors and pets from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Kingdom Kids will host a free Christmas doll program from 1 to 4 p.m.
