Charges were filed Tuesday in Waukesha County against three Milwaukee men in connection with a horrific carjacking in which they forced a woman out of her car while pointing a shotgun at a Waukesha Walmart Sunday night. Waukesha police chased a stolen car for 14 miles at high speed before the suspects collided with four police cars, injuring three officers. Prosecutors said 19-year-old Tanner Crowe was the driver. He just got out of prison last month. Court Commissioner David Herring set bail at $1 million and said the only reason they came to Waukesha was to commit a crime. “Based on this complaint, they were literally targeted against a city that was trying to come here and get something, and they got caught. “He’s not going to go home empty-handed. You come here, you grab someone else, you get into someone else’s car, and you just drive off. You don’t even know where to start,” Herring said. Crowe is also accused of pointing a shotgun at a Waukesha Village man, who only wanted to be identified as John. “If he had pulled the trigger, I wouldn’t be standing here right now,” he said. Minutes before the carjacking at Walmart, men allegedly tried to steal his Acura sedan. John got into his car and sped away. “I didn’t know if he was going to break through the window so I ducked down, punched him, backed up and hit the car. The car drove forward. “Then all of a sudden they took off. A white SUV pulled into the driveway. , they took off,” John said. Others indicted also face a number of charges, including armed robbery. They were identified as Joshua D. Rodriguez of Milwaukee and Andrew Hibbs-Magruder, 23, of Appleton, and sobbed in court, loudly saying, “I’m not a bad person.” Neither the chief justice nor the prosecutor were particularly sympathetic. “The defendants have no connection to Waukesha County. As far as I know, they came to this area specifically to steal cars at any cost,” Assistant District Attorney Chelsea Thompson said. Ta. . Rodriguez’s bail was set at $750,000 and Hibbs-Magruder’s bail was set at $1 million. Hibbs-Magruder, who was recently released from prison in July, was charged Monday with a new felony domestic violence case in Outagamie County. Waukesha police said three officers were injured in the collision with the stolen vehicle before Crowe and Rodriguez were finally arrested. Hibbs-Magruder was arrested the next day in Milwaukee. Waukesha police said the injured officers are “doing well but will take several more days to recover, but we expect all to return to full duty soon.” The three remain in custody and are scheduled for a preliminary hearing on December 1st.
