CASPER, Wyo. — The Natrona County Board of Commissioners on Tuesday voted unanimously to transfer the liquor license of the former local bar Lux Gentlemen’s Club to the planned Seasons Hall catering and event center. It was approved.
Lux, which closed in March, filed for bankruptcy after owner Sonny Pilcher said the venue was in financial trouble.
Seasons Hall will become part of the Johnson Restaurant Group, owned by Casper businessman John Johnson. Mr Johnson said this would be the first catering and events business under the group’s umbrella.
“That’s something we’re really excited about. Many of our businesses offer catering services, but this will be our first specifically catered events,” Johnson said. “It will be designed for corporate parties, weddings, celebrations of life, fundraisers and any other event someone might want to host.”
County Attorney Heather Duncan-Malone said the bankruptcy court approved the transfer application and is awaiting the board’s decision before moving forward with Lux.
The property, located at 2230 Bryan Stock Trail, will feature an on-site commercial kitchen, an outdoor garden area and gazebo, a bride and groom suite for weddings, a stage and more.
“The facility will also consist of two spaces,” Johnson added. “One can seat about 250 people, and the other can seat about 80 people. That way, whether you’re hosting a large event or a small event, We can also accommodate.”
Johnson said he hopes to open by summer 2024. Although major renovations to the interior facilities are not necessary, he said he would like to install a cement soundproof wall along the road in front of the building.
“It’s going to be like a wall separating residential development along the highway,” Johnson said. “It won’t be very high, but it will be high enough that the cars passing along the Bryan Stock Trail won’t ruin someone’s wedding vows.”
Johnson added that he plans to consider hiring staff closer to opening.
