Tanzania West Kilimanjaro (November 20, 2023)/endurance Sportswire/ – Kilimanjaro Trail Run adds two events to its race line-up and strengthens its commitment to community development.
The new 50k Ultra is an aspirational ultra-long range for those not yet ready to take on the 65k and 75k versions on offer. Race creator and director Brett Harrison added this event to encourage first-time ultrarunners’ efforts to conquer distances greater than 42km on Kilimanjaro.
He further added, “The 50k course passes through three different ecological zones and peaks at 11,500 feet (3,500 m) above sea level. However, it shares the same 13.5 hour time limit as the other two ultras and is faster than the 42k. It’s actually an easier race than a full marathon because it also involves far more downhills.
The Nishikiri Forest 10km will also debut in 2024. This will be the first short-distance event to be added to a race that already boasts five half-marathon, full-marathon and ultra-marathon distance races, and will showcase some of the most difficult running in the region. The 10k course is more accessible to those who would otherwise be spectators and locals, ensuring that Kilimanjaro His Trail His Run is truly a race for the whole family of runners. The race is also attractive for hikers, as the time limit is his three hours.
Red Knot Racing Company also announced an increase in its commitment to community development. This is a stark reminder that adventure athletes are more interested than ever in knowing exactly how their participation positively impacts their local communities. An athlete who takes part in the Kilimanjaro Trail Run runs the event knowing that his three-day weekend on Kilimanjaro will see his full 50% of the profits go directly into community projects promoted by Red Knot Development. , can achieve good results.
Red Knot Racing Company Director Brett Harrison fully values this investment in the community. In fact, that’s the intention. Red Knot Development was established with the distinct purpose of funneling funds and projects into the very communities used in racing.
“The Kili Trail Run combines Mt Kilimanjaro, trail running, philanthropy and community all into one, making it an experience not to be missed. Red Knot truly understands this niche market and even in downtime, You can make an impact on the world, said Ali Deyonge, a three-time Kiri Trails Festival participant.
Adding these two events to the 2024 edition of the Kilimanjaro Trail Run, and increasing our commitment to community development, are just some of the ways Red Knot Racing Company continues to improve its already impressive lineup of endurance races. Not too much. Connecting with the local communities they travel to.
Other Red Knot experiences include the Grumeti Foundation Kilimanjaro 2 Natron (K2N), a five-day mountain bike stage race through some of the most rugged and beautiful landscapes in northern Tanzania, and Kili Trails, a weekend of trail running and mountain biking.・There are festivals, etc. , camping, food stalls and live music on the underbelly of Kilimanjaro.
