Lewisburg, Pennsylvania — A woman faces a felony theft charge after allegedly shoplifting more than $1,300 worth of merchandise from a Lewisburg Walmart on multiple occasions.
Sherry Frieda Levy, 40, of Lewisburg, was initially caught by a store clerk July 29 after she tried to steal several items from a self-checkout register without scanning them, said Officer Gideon Greene of the Milton Police Department. It is said that According to Ms. Green’s affidavit, Walmart loss prevention officer Justin Galer told police that her store staff “intervened” with her and retrieved her items.
Levy is suspected of visiting the same store on July 31, failing to scan all items at the self-checkout counter, and stealing more items. Green said she visited the store seven more times by Sept. 26 and stole additional items. Store staff observed Levy on video exiting the parking lot in a black 2012 Nissan Altima. The total value of the stolen items was $1,366.
The store reported the theft to state police on Oct. 25, and charges were filed in District Judge Jeffrey A. Rowe’s office. Levy’s preliminary hearing in Lowe’s office is scheduled for Dec. 7.
