This beautiful display at the home of Ryan and Kara Bates has been a huge hit at the Orwigsburg Holy Trail. Filled with handmade figurines, upscale decor, and family traditions, the home was a hit among attendees. (Janice McGowan)
Santa’s workshop and decorated car parade are new additions to this year’s Holy Trail fundraiser scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 2, in Orwigsburg. Proceeds will benefit the Orwigsburg Area Free Public Library.
The workshop will be held from noon to 4 p.m. at the new Borough Hall, 333 S. Liberty St., next to Boier’s. There will also be photo opportunities with Santa and holiday games. The elves collect non-perishable food for the Orwigsburg food pantry and new unwrapped toys for Toys for Toddlers.
The Orwigsburg Festival of Lights Decorated Car Parade will be held on Center Square from 4:30 to 7:30.
Anything with wheels is welcome to participate in the parade. It begins at the Veterans Memorial and ends at the town square for judging. The top three finishers will receive prizes of up to $250.
Entry forms and entry fees of $10 per vehicle must be received by 5pm on Friday, December 1st. Forms can be returned at the Market Square Coffee House, 118 W. Market St., or the library, 216 W. Independence St. Route 61 Classics, 200 Pinebrook Place.
