Texas A&M International University is planning a series of festive holiday-themed events.
Kicking off the holiday season will be the Texas Shakespeare Festival Roadshow’s performance of the tragic love story “Romeo and Juliet” on Monday, November 20th, followed by TAMIU’s Center on Tuesday, November 21st. A performance of Shakespeare’s greatest hits will be held at the Four. Fine and Performing Arts Theater. Both performances will take place at 6:30 p.m. and are free and open to the public.
Several musical performances are also scheduled at the Fine and Performing Arts Center from late November through December. Music performances are free and open to the public.
A piano studio recital is scheduled for Monday, Nov. 27 at 7:30 p.m., followed by an afternoon Music on the Menu concert scheduled for Wednesday, Nov. 29 at 12:10 p.m. The Mariachi International Fall Concert will also be held on the same Wednesday in November. 29 at 7:30 pm This year’s musical performances conclude with the 22nd Annual Guitars de Navidad Concert. Friday, Dec. 1, 7:30 p.m.
TAMIU will also hold its popular annual tree lighting ceremony in the front lawn of the Sue Radcliffe Killam Library on Thursday, November 30th from 6-8 p.m. The event will include elementary and middle school musical performances, festive holiday treats, games, photo ops, a holiday market and more. The first 100 participants will also receive a Santa hat. The annual gala is free and open to the public.
The Lamar Bruni Vergara Planetarium also features several holiday-themed shows. These screenings require admission and are:
