INDIANAPOLIS — Central Indiana is less than six months away from a total solar eclipse.
On April 8, 2024, Indianapolis will be plunged into darkness for 3 minutes and 46 seconds as the moon passes between the sun and Earth. This phenomenon is the first total solar eclipse in the United States since his August 2017 and the first total solar eclipse in Indy since his 1205. Indiana won’t see another total solar eclipse until 2099.
Events will be held on this day and at many locations in the surrounding Indy area, and the city expects a large number of tourists will flock to witness the historic event.
