Scouts participated in Veterans Day parades, ceremonies and rallies honoring the nation’s heroes in uniform.
In Waterville, Scouts from Vassalboro, Winslow, Windsor and Augusta marched in the Veterans Day Parade, and some of Windsor’s Cub Scouts led the Pledge of Allegiance at City Hall.
This was Windsor Pack 609’s first parade and community event. The pack, which was officially announced this month after several years of inactivity, will also march in the Gardiner Parade of Lights.
Christopher Santiago, leader of both the Vassalboro Scout Troop and Cub Pack 410, said, “Vassalboro Scouting would like to express our gratitude to our veterans and join our charter organization, American Legion Post #126, in supporting the Waterville Veterans “I marched in the parade on that day,” he said.
In Augusta, members of Scout Troop 431 served lunch to veterans at American Legion Post 2. In Litchfield, Scout Troop 672 participated in a retirement ceremony with members of the Litchfield American Legion William R. Bold Post 181.
In Farmington, the 546th met with the 585th Farmington and the Roderick Crosby American Legion Post 28 (Farmington) to celebrate Veterans Day.
In Litchfield, the 672nd participated in a retirement ceremony along with members of the American Legion William R. Bald Post 181.
