Chi Unification Church: 5151 Chichester Avenue in Aston will host its annual Holiday Bazaar on Saturday, November 18th from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. We offer lunch, Christmas and holiday items, Grandma’s Attic, candles, towels, homemade soups, baked goods and more.for everyone
Christ Episcopal Church: The fall festival will be held Saturday at 311 S. Orange St. in Media. There will be homemade soups, pies, jams, cookies and other baked goods on Nov. 18 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Also available are handmade items, jewelry, raffle baskets, prize wheels for kids and adults, gifts and holiday decorations, and activities for kids. Lunch is served from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and includes homemade meatball sandwiches, cowboy caviar salad, hot dogs and more.
Free community dinner: Sunday, Nov. 19, at St. James Episcopal Church, 732 11th Ave., Prospect Park, from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Dinner will be held in the basement. Please enter through the red door at 11th Avenue and Lincoln Avenue. Dinners are held on the third Sunday of each month. Holiday “Gift” Bingo: The event for men and women will be held on Saturday, November 25th at St. John the Evangelist Church, Third Street and Wanamaker Avenue in Essington. Tickets are $30 in advance and $35 at the door, subject to availability. Doors open at 6pm and the game begins at 7pm. Prizes include Blackstone, Black & Decker drills, HP laptops, Cuisinart air fryers, Beats headphones, and more. For tickets, call 215-687-1204.
Saint Myrrh Holder: The Ukrainian Catholic Church, 900 Fairview Road, Swarthmore, has announced its annual Christmas Basket Raffle. The church’s social hall will have an extensive display of beautifully prepared themed raffle baskets (over 40). Baskets will be drawn during the annual St. Nicholas Dinner on Dec. 3. Winners do not need to be present to win. Tickets are $2 each, $5 for 3, $10 for 8, and $20 for 17. This year we have a “big item” basket table where these opportunities are $5 each or $20 for five. Big ticket items include large flat screen televisions. There are lottery tickets worth over $100, Fit Bit watches, and some other popular big-ticket items. Tickets are available for purchase before and after weekend services in the social hall, on Wednesdays during pierogi sales week, and on all Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Saint Myrrh Holder: Slab Christmas/St. Paul’s Cathedral will be held at 900 Fairview Road in Swarthmore. Nicholas Luncheon on Sunday, Dec. 3 at noon. Free for children under 10, $10 for older children, $20 for adults, and available only in advance through November 30th. Enjoy Slavic dishes like pierogi, kielbasa, harushki and chicken his nuggets for the kids. There is no takeout service. The dinner will also include a Saint Nick basket, which will provide new socks, gloves, hats, underwear and thermal wear for orphans in Ukraine. Bring something to share with those in need. Please provide your child’s name and age when visiting St. Nick’s. Seating is limited and tickets will not be sold on the day. Annual Breakfast with Santa: It will be held from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Dec. 3, at Holy Spirit Lutheran Church, 2545 Franklin Ave., Secane. The cost is $8 per adult and $5 per child. Children 2 and under are free. There are two seating options: 9am to 10:15am and 10:45am to noon. Holy Myrrh Bearer Church: 2023 Pierogi Sale. Prices are $11 for 12 potato and cheese pierogies and $13 for 12 sauerkraut pierogies. The remaining Pierogi sale dates are December 14th to 16th. Pick-up hours are Wednesdays of sale weeks and every Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Most often, you’ll find raw and smoked kheerbasi rings, horbuki (stuffed cabbage), halsiki (buttered noodles with or without kielbasi), assorted nut rolls, and a variety of homemade soups. . First Media United Methodist Church: Media, 350 W. First United Methodist Church: 350 W. State St., Media, The church is home to the Media Food Bank, which serves 75 to 100 families each week and is supported by individuals, area churches, and local businesses. The food bank is open on Thursdays from 7-8 p.m. and on the second and fourth Saturday of each month from 10-11 a.m. The church also serves the community through its clothing closet, which is open Thursdays from 7-8 p.m. and every Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon. . The Transition Town Media Free Store is located at First United and serves as a place to donate used items or pick up (for free) items that can be used or reused. First Church offers free beginner yoga classes on Wednesdays at 10 a.m. and Saturdays at 9 a.m. There is no charge, but donations are welcome.

Ministry that was a turning point: 624 E. Eighth St. in Chester is collecting food as part of its efforts to continue building the city.
