The Downtown Enfield Restoration and Preservation Society is partnering with other community organizations to kick off the holiday season.
DERP is affiliated with the Enfield Alliance Federation, ABC2, Civic Club, EEDRC, and the Department of Parks and Recreation.
November 25
DERP’s 4th Annual Oyster Roast will be held at Scottfield Preserve (193 Country Club Drive) in Enfield starting at 5 p.m.
Fresh oysters and shrimp are shipped directly from Washington. We also have menus other than seafood.
The cost is $40 per person. This BYOB event will feature a DJ and a 50-50 raffle.

December 1st
Christmas in the Square will be held from 5:30 p.m.
Santa arrives in a fire truck.
There will be food, music, and Christmas carols.
DERP is also asking you to support the toy and food drive by bringing unwrapped toys and canned food.
The Church Federation Community Choir will perform.
DERP, Civic Club, Enfield Parks and Recreation, EAC, and ABC2 sponsor this event. Enfield Town Square parking is located at 110 Dennis Street.
December 2
The Civic Club and Enfield Parks and Recreation sponsor the annual Christmas Parade. Line up at 11am on Watson Street. The parade begins at noon.
In case of rain, the event will be held on Saturday, December 9th.

December 9th and December 10th
A service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 9, at Advent Historic Episcopal Church.
The church is located at 200 Batchelor Avenue.
This church was built in 1880 and is an example of Gothic Revival architecture.
The church was designated a Preserved Historic Church by the Episcopal Diocese of North Carolina in 2015.
The next day, the annual Christmas service will be held at 3 p.m. at Whitaker Chapel, a United Methodist Church landmark and listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
Whitaker Chapel is where Reformers held the North Carolina Annual Conference of the Methodist Protestant Church in the 1820s, carving out a new denomination of the church.
December 16th
The EAC Federation of Churches will hold a Unity of Christmas Revival at St. Paul Baptist Church, 421 South McDaniel Street, from 2 p.m.
Speakers will be the Rev. Molly Yates of House of Resurrection in Whitakers and the Rev. Felix Pettway, pastor of St. Paul Baptist Church.
Additionally, the church federation choir will perform and there will be skits for youth.
