Lacey Chabert starred as Gretchen Winners in 2004 mean girlshas opened up about reuniting with former co-stars Lindsay Lohan and Amanda Seyfried for Walmart’s Black Friday ad.
the actress said yahoo entertainmentsaid in an interview published online Wednesday that filming the commercial was “even more fun than it looks.”
“It was a really special day to be with Lindsay and Amanda again, to reminisce about our very unique experiences together, and to catch up with each other,” Chabert added. “We’re all moms now! It really was a full-circle moment.”
Walmart has hired many of the original cast to appear in its Black Friday marketing campaign, including Lohan, Seyfried, Chabert, Daniel Franzese, and Rajiv Surendra. The retail giant will release a new commercial featuring the performers every Wednesday throughout November leading up to Black Friday on November 27th and Cyber Monday.
In the latest ad spot (below), Cady Heron (Lohan) is seen taking on North Shore High School again, but this time only as a school guidance counselor. In the video, she finds a “trade book” filled with Walmart secrets that has been distributed throughout the school. This references the film’s iconic “Burn Book”.
Other ads feature Karen Smith (Seyfried) as a weather reporter and Gretchen Winners (Chabert) as the mother of the new popular girl at school. It also includes some memorable lines and quotes from the original film.
Looking back on filming the classic comedy film, Chabert said: yahoo entertainment She has only positive memories.
“Whenever I do a project, I hope it resonates with people,” the actress said. “So it’s great that something is so appreciated.”
