BLOOMINGTON, IN – As the holiday season approaches, Harmony School will be hosting a lively Holiday Gift Market on Friday, December 8, 2023, on campus at 909 E 2nd Street, Bloomington, IN 47401.
The event is open to the public, begins at 3pm and runs until 7:30pm, and promises a host of local retailers and engaging activities for attendees. Some of the highlights include local favorites like Brown County Toy Chest and Morgenstern Books participating and showcasing their unique products.
A big draw for families is the handcrafted gift workshops for children aged 4 to 12. This interactive session aims to foster creativity and holiday spirit in young participants. In addition, a delicious chili dinner will also be served, giving visitors the opportunity to enjoy a hot meal in a festive atmosphere.
Notably, a portion of sales from the retailer’s pop-up shop will be donated directly to Harmony School’s scholarship fund, benefiting more than 80% of its students. Participation fees collected from the handmade gift workshop will be used to support the high school’s spring trip, and proceeds from chili dinner sales will be used to support the middle school’s spring trip.
Alisyn de Klerk, representing the Harmony Education Center, highlighted the institution’s commitment to holistic education and community involvement. “Harmony School has long been focused on developing students academically, creatively and socially,” said Mr. de Klerk. “Events like the Holiday Gift Market not only provide a vibrant space for community engagement, but also directly support students’ educational efforts.”
Founded in 1974, Harmony School’s mission is focused on preparing young people to succeed in a diverse and democratic society. Through a balanced approach that emphasizes personal growth and communal responsibility, the school focuses on developing critical thinking and academic skills and nurturing each student’s unique voice.
