The Spice of Life at Fairmont
Spice of Life will be held at the CREST office, 820 Winnebago Avenue in Fairmont, on Thursday, November 16th at 1:30 p.m.crest’s “Spice of Life” This is a program where people with Alzheimer’s disease or dementia and their caregivers come together and have a fun time. This month’s creative activities will be centered around Thanksgiving. There is no charge for this event, but we encourage you to RSVP by calling (507) 235-3833. We’ll be expecting you.
Chili & Oyster Stew Dinner
Immanuel Lutheran Church, 1200 N. North Ave., Fairmont, will host a chili and oyster stew dinner in the church basement on Fridays from 5 to 8 p.m. Meals consist of chili, oyster stew, crackers, breadsticks, assorted bars, milk, hot chocolate, and coffee. The dinner will be hosted by Immanuel’s Men’s Club and youth group. Adult cost is $10. Children (ages 6-12) $5. Children (age 5 and under) are free. Proceeds will be used to support Immanuel’s ministry.
Dedicate your best day – Heaven’s Table
Minnesota’s “Give to the Max Day” is Thursday, Nov. 16. With the help of this program, Heaven’s Table Food Shelf in Fairmont and Sherburne provides temporary emergency food assistance and other events to those in need. When you choose to join www.givemn.org, you become part of Heaven’s Table’s mission. By supporting the Heavenly Table of Give to the Max Day, you can help children, seniors, and individuals lead healthy and productive lives.
Book and Beer Thursday
The Martin County Library in Fairmont is hosting Books and Brews: Morning Edition. Bring your coffee and come to the library on Thursday at 10am. We will talk about books that will make your staff feel grateful. This program is open to the public and there is no cost to attend.
Lefse creation demo
The Fairmont Library will host a lefse-making demo Thursday from 6 p.m. Here’s how Megan Heller made the left. Participation is free and no registration is required.
Fairmont Grow Soup Supper
First Congregation UCC will host a soup dinner leading up to and after Friday’s parade from 5 p.m. We will serve you until we run out of food. The meal consists of his three types of soup: ham & wild rice, vegetable beef, and chicken noodle. There are also fresh rolls, milk, coffee and water. Cost is $8 per drink for adults and $5 per drink for children 12 and under. Takeout is possible. Free popcorn and hot apple cider available outside. Please come and have some soup. Martin County Toys for Toddlers Participates in Glow Parade
Martin County Toys for Tots will have a float in the Grow’s Parade. East Chain 4H will staff floats and collect new, unwrapped toys and donations along the parade route. Donors will receive a Toys for Tots swag bag. All donations will go to underprivileged children in Martin County.
