¯ The Washington County Retired Seniors Volunteer program will hold a coats for kids winter clothing drive from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays this month through Nov. 30. Donate any size coats for kids at many locations. A few locations include, the Belpre Kroger, Citizens Bank in Marietta, the Washington County Courthouse, and Memorial Health System Belpre Cancer Center. The donation deadline is on Nov. 27. The distribution will be held at the Dime Bank Building at Second and Putnam Streets, Marietta.

¯ The Washington County Public Library will host local author Julie Zickefoose for an illustrated talk at 7 p.m. Thursday at Campus Martius Museum, 601 Second St., Marietta. ¯ The free Healthy Lungs 5K Run and Walk sponsored by the Washington County Health Department to celebrate the Great American Smokeout and Lung Cancer Awareness Month will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday at Indian Acres Park, 147 Linwood Ave., Marietta. ¯ The Boys and Girls Club of Washington County and the Washington County Health Department are collaborating on the youth tobacco environmental clean up day from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, Nov. 27, at Harmar Village. If participating, arrive at the Boys and Girls Club location on Lancaster Street in Marietta by 9:45 a.m. Youth will be trained about the environmental consequences of Big Tobacco and what can be done to make a difference. ¯ The O’Neill Senior Center will have its annual Craft Show at the O’Neill Center located at 333 Fourth St., Marietta from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 2. Come see what local artisans will have to offer. The craft show is free and open to the public.
¯ Riverbend Family Dining on 415 Fifth St., Beverly is having a night out event learning about local Native Americans at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 28. There will be appetizers and non-alcoholic drinks. • Oak Grove Fire and Rescue will be giving Santa his annual ride on the fire truck to visit children in the Oak Grove and Muskingum Township West areas starting at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 10. Children should listen for the fire trucks siren to signal Santa’s arrival on their street. Fire department members will be collecting donations for Gospel Mission Food Pantry.
• The Washington State Community College on 710 Colgate Dr., Marietta is holding a Hope for the Holidays at 6 p.m on Dec. 10 on the campus lawn. They will have A Candlelight Vigil remembering loved ones lost to suicide. Attendees are invited to bring a picture of a loved one for the memory table. This event is open to the public.

Nov. 20: A Challenged Book Discussion will be held at 4:30 p.m. The book in discussion is “A Snake Falls to Earth” by Darcie Little Badger. Copies are available at the library and using the Libby or Hoopla app. This event is for ages 18 and up.
Nov. 30: AmeriCorps and Zero Waste will present on how to begin backyard composting for ages 18 and older. Registration is not required.
Every Wednesday until the end of the year:
• Weekly Story TIme will be held from 8:15 to 9 a.m. for children ages 2 to 6 who are accompanied by an adult. Story time can include stories, crafts, games and music and a small breakfast snack. Use the back door. Registration is not required.
• “Once Upon a Time We…,” an after-school program for children ages 6-12 will be held at 3:15 p.m. Topics and activities may include crafts, games, or books. Registration is not required.
• Weekly Baby Bookworm sessions will be at 10:30 a.m. Baby Bookworms is a story and play time for children 2 and under who are accompanied by an adult. Registration is not required.
2nd Thursdays: Cooking skills for teens and adults will be taught at 6 p.m. bring a recipe to share.

3rd Thursdays from Sept. to May: Teen entertainment for grades 5 to 12 after school till 4 p.m. On Nov. 16, at 2:45 p.m., they will have board games available to play. Register by Monday before club day.

Nov. 20: Crafternoon for teens and adults will be held at 2 p.m. Create an easy to make Fall/Thanksgiving wooden sign. Registration is required.
Nov. 24: Thanksgiving kahoot will be held at 6 p.m. It will be a family thanksgiving trivia that’s available for ages 12 and up. Registration is required.
Nov. 27: Crafternoon will be held at 2 p.m. The craft is creating your own perler bead bookshelf bookmark. The event is for teens and adults and registration is required.
Nov. 28: A young adult book club will be held at 5 p.m. The book that will be in discussion is “Firekeeper’s Daughter” by Angeline Boulley. Check out a copy at the library or the Libby App. The event is for ages 13 and up. No registration is required.
Nov. 30: Create your own fall treat at 4 p.m. The fall treat will be rice krispie pumpkins full of extra yummy candy treats. The event is for ages K-5. Registration is required.

Today: An open craft will be held between 3 and 5 p.m. Decorate a blank puzzle piece. The puzzle pieces will be combined to make a Christmas tree with presents underneath. It will then be placed together and put on a bulletin board in the youth services department. You will also get your own blank puzzle pieces to take home and craft yourself. All supplies will be provided.
Nov. 21: A fall themed craft will be held at 3 p.m. The craft will be a pumpkin design by gluing buttons to a framed canvas. The event is for ages 13 and up. Registration is required.
Nov. 27: A film club will be held at 4 p.m. the movie that will be discussed is “Ghost in the Shell”. The film will be analyzed using film theory, group discussion, and more. Be sure to pick up a copy of the movie at the library. Registration is required.
Nov. 29: A Literary Ladies Book Club will be at 4 p.m. November’s book is “The First Ladies” by Marie Benedict and Victoria Murray. This event is for ages 18 and up. Registration is required. Stop by and pick up the book.
Every Monday of November: A diamond painting class will be from 3 to 5 p.m. From beginner to advanced, there will be different designs available to create your own diamond art. Children and adults are welcome to join. The supplies will be provided. No registration is required.
Every Wednesday:
Story Hour for children ages 3 to 6 and their caregivers will be held at 10 a.m. or 1 p.m. Call the youth services department for more information.
Every Thursday:
• Preschool movies for kids ages 2 to 6 will be shown at 3 p.m. Movies will last no longer than 30 minutes.
• Family Movie Afternoon is from 4 to 5:30 p.m. All movies are rated G or PG and will run no longer than 100 minutes. Open to all ages. Those under the age 7 must have a caregiver attend with them. Registration is not required. To find out the movie titles, call the library.
Every Friday: Toddler Time featuring stories and crafts for children ages 18 months to 3 and their caregivers will be held at 10 a.m. For more information call the youth Services Department at the library.
Loom hats for the Ronald McDonald House of Greater Cincinnati: Make loom hats that will be donated to guest families at the Ronald McDonald House of Greater Cincinnati. Participants ages 12 and up will meet on the Marietta Branch Mezzanine from 4 to 5 p.m. Thursdays through Dec. 28, and 10-11 a.m. Fridays through Dec. 29. All supplies will be provided.
IT Specialist: An IT Specialist will be available to help with technology questions from 1 to 3:30 p.m on Tuesdays, and 9:30-11:30 a.m. on Thursdays. They will help you learn how to use your cell phone, computer, tablet, the internet, or Microsoft Office programs.
• A faith-based cancer support group will meet at noon on the second Monday of the month at Gilman United Methodist Church, 312 Gilman Ave.
• A free men’s breakfast will be held at 9 a.m. on the first Tuesday of each month at the O’Neill Center. Donations will be accepted.
• The 1955 graduating class of Marietta High School will meet at 11:30 a.m. on the second Wednesday of the month at the Harmar Tavern until further notice. All classmates and friends are welcome.
• Christ United Methodist Church, 301 Wooster St., Marietta, will offer a free takeout meal from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on the first Friday of the month. All are welcome.
• Gilman United Methodist Church, 312 Gilman Ave., Marietta, offers worship at 10:30 a.m. Sundays. Adult Sunday school class is at 9:15 a.m. Coffee, light refreshments and fellowship available. A weekly adult Bible study with Pastor Doug Thompson will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesdays and 6 p.m. Sundays. All are welcome.

• The Alzheimer’s Association support group meetings in the area include: Marietta Support Group, 10-11:30 a.m. first Fridays at the O’Neill Center, 333 Fourth St. Facilitator is Krissy Kearns, 937-974-2387; Belpre Chamber of Commerce, 1-2:40 p.m. second Mondays at 713 Park Drive. • The O’Neill Center will hold mani/pedis with appointments starting at 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. second and fourth Tuesdays of the month. Cost is $16 for manicure and $33 for pedicure. Call the O’Neill Center for appointments.
• TOPS 399, Marietta, meets 6 p.m. Tuesdays at the First Church of the Nazarene. Weigh-in is between 5:30 and 6 p.m. Visitors are welcome and the first meeting is free. Call Cindy at 740-629-2957 for details.
Classes/Workshops/Programs/Seminars
• Zumba classes will be held 5:30-6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday and 11:30 a.m. Monday at the O’Neill Center. The cost is $5 per class or $25 for six classes. All ages welcome. For more information, call 740-373-3914.
• The O’Neill Center in Marietta will hold bingo at 9:30 a.m. Thursdays. No cost at the door to play 20 games and it is a nickel per card per game. Seating is limited. Also scheduled are: a free gentle yoga class at 10 a.m. Tuesdays; bridge at 1 p.m. Tuesdays; euchre at 1 p.m. Wednesdays; hand and foot cards at 1 p.m. Wednesdays; chair volleyball at 9 a.m first and fourth Wednesdays, except the second Wednesday of the month; Free afternoon at the movies at 1 p.m. Thursdays.
• Weekly ballroom dancing classes will be held 7-10 p.m. second, third and fourth Saturdays of the month at Miller Prosthetics, 2311 Ohio Ave., Parkersburg. Dress is casual. Cost is a $5 per person donation with singles and couples welcome.
