SEATTLE — Western Washington will celebrate Veterans Day on Nov. 11 with ceremonies and celebrations to honor all those who have served in the military.
We will introduce all the events held in each region.
auburn
The 58th annual parade will be held on Main Street on Nov. 11 at 11 a.m. The parade typically involves 200 troops and his nearly 6,000 participants, including marching bands and military vehicles.
The city is also hosting a community breakfast meeting with the American Legion Auburn Post #78 from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. at the Auburn Senior Activity Center. The cost is $10.
The memorial service will be held from 9:45 to 10:15 a.m. at Veterans Memorial Park and will include a wreath laying, rifle salute, prayers and taps.
At least 25 marching bands will compete at Auburn Memorial Stadium from 1 to 10 p.m. as part of the Veterans Day contest.
Chehalis
The Nov. 11 event will include a 5K run, lunch, and a program at the Veterans Memorial Museum. Proceeds from the run, which begins at 9 a.m., will be donated to Veterans Journey Forward. Lunch is free for veterans and their families from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The 2 p.m. program will feature speaker Tabitha Hopp, U.S. Army veteran CW3.
gig harbor
Gig Harbor will host its 6th Annual Veterans Day Celebration at the Gig Harbor Antique Aero Museum on Nov. 11 from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event will include a flag ceremony, speakers, lunch and more. Free for veterans, $15 for everyone else. RSVP online.
jefferson county
Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command Northwest will hold a Veterans Day ceremony to honor Marvin G. Shields, the only Navy Seabee to receive the Medal of Honor. The ceremony will be held at 11 a.m. Nov. 11 at 137 Gardiner Cemetery Road in Gardiner.
Joint Bass Lewis McCord
JBLM will hold its second annual Wear Blue Veterans Day Run with distances of 11 miles, 11K, 5K, and 1.1K. The event begins at 10:45 a.m. and includes family-friendly activities. Registration for the event has ended, but you can still come and support us.

Victory for Veterans on the Court: A Pickleball Tribute will be held on Nov. 11 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the pickleball courts at 23 Kitchen.
mill creek
Mill Cree will hold a Veterans Day commemoration ceremony and parade on November 11th. The ceremony will take place at 9 a.m. in Library Park, and the parade will take place on Main Street in the center of town at 11 a.m.
Olympia
A ceremony honoring veterans and their sacrifices will be held at 11 a.m. on Nov. 11 in the Capitol Rotunda. The American Legion Band will provide live music.
puyallup
The South Sound Symphony Orchestra will perform at the Pioneer Park Pavilion during the Veterans Day celebration and concert.The event will be held on November 12th at 2:00 p.m.
Renton
Veterans Corps – North Seattle is hosting a Veterans Day foraging hike where people can go mushroom foraging with “experienced fungi.” The hike will begin at 11 a.m. Nov. 11 on the Harvey Manning Trail. Coffee and donuts are also part of the event.
Seattle
Ballard Eagleson VFW Post 3063, located at 2812 NW Market St., will hold an open house on Nov. 11 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Connect with other veterans and help dedicate your group’s new flagpole.
snoqualmie
American Legion Post 79 will hold a flag ceremony at 10 a.m. Nov. 11 at Snoqualmie Casino. There will also be a free all-day buffet for veterans.
Yelm
The city will hold a Nov. 11 celebration with food, drinks and live music from noon to 4 p.m. at Yelm City Park. Spaghetti Feed will be held at the Quarter Mile Bar and Grill from 6pm to 9pm, with proceeds going to local veterans posts.
Washeri Veterans Memorial Ceremony Event
Community members expressed their gratitude Friday at the annual service at Waselli Veterans Memorial Cemetery. Attendees heard remarks from Warrant Officer 3 Antonio Davila, who expressed his gratitude for the support in Western Washington.
“I am grateful to everyone else who has allowed me to serve,” Chief Davila said. It’s definitely overwhelming to see so many participants. ”
Scout troops planted flags throughout the Veterans Memorial Cemetery. Among them was Alexander Bertelsen, whose father was a Green Beret and said he was happy to see so many people come together to honor veterans.
“It warms my heart,” Bertelsen said. “I have always looked up to my father as a great person and he inspired me to continue to do good and work hard.”
