BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — The holiday season is just around the corner, and organizations around Bakersfield and Kern County are gearing up for family-friendly events.
Here is a list of events around Bakersfield and Kern County:
Bakersfield Christmas Parade
The Bakersfield Christmas Parade will be held in downtown Bakersfield on December 7th from 6pm to 8pm.
KGET will broadcast the 41st annual parade from Downtown Bakersfield. Members of the 17 News team will be on hand to bring the sights and sounds of this year’s parade to your home.
The theme of this year’s Christmas parade is “Joyful, Joyful.”

CALM Holiday Lights
CALM’s HolidayLights will return to a walk-through format from Nov. 25 to Dec. 30 from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m., event organizers said. CALM’s HolidayLights will not be open on Christmas Day.
The walk-through event will feature classic exhibits like the Candy Cane Express train, as well as new exhibits like photo ops with Santa in Santa’s Workshop, Christmas tree picking, and a vendor fair.

bakersfield christmas town
Bakersfield Christmas Town will open on Nov. 24 and attractions will be spread throughout the Kern County Fairgrounds. Tickets are on sale now, with prices ranging from $20 to $30 on various days.
The attraction will be closed on Nov. 29 and Dec. 4 for private events, organizers said.Please check Website For more information. An ice skating rink, a giant Christmas tree, train rides, and even Santa’s cozy cottage are just some of the events at this event.
36th Annual Villa
Holiday Cottage is accepting donations for Christmas wishes for foster youth starting November 8th. Organizers say foster parents’ wishes range from Legos and Play-Doh to bicycles and scooters. This year’s event will be held at 3043 Wilson Rd. from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and donations can be made in person.
This event has been making Christmas dreams come true in Kern County for 35 years.
2023 Wasco Christmas Parade
Wasco’s third annual Christmas parade, tree lighting and vendor fair is scheduled for Dec. 2, organizers said.
The event kicks off with a vendor fair starting at 4 p.m., and you can shop and grab a bite to eat throughout the festival. The parade will begin at 6 p.m., with a tree lighting around 7:15 p.m., leading up to the block party scheduled to end at 9 p.m.
Tehachapi Christmas Parade
The Tehachapi Christmas Parade will be held in downtown Tehachapi on December 2nd.The event is scheduled to take place from 5:30pm to 7:00pm.
A Night of Wine and Succulents – Christmas Theme
Event organizers say the wine and succulent night will be held at Wine Me Up, 3900 Coffee Rd., on Dec. 4 from 6 to 7:30 p.m.
The event will feature lessons on succulents and their care, along with Christmas-themed succulent accessories.
This event is open to those 21 and older, and tickets to the event are $40 per person. Ticket includes your first glass of wine or beer.

Taft’s 78th Annual “Santa’s Paw” Christmas Parade
The Taft Christmas Parade is scheduled for Dec. 4 in downtown Taft at 6 p.m., according to event organizers.

Merry Litmus Mixology Masterclass
The mixology class will be held at Rosamond, 123 Rosamond Blvd., on Dec. 8 from 5 to 8 p.m.
Event organizers say tools and materials are also included. It’s okay to wear an ugly Christmas sweater.

Bakersfield Christmas Market
The Bakersfield Christmas Market will run from Dec. 8 to Dec. 24, according to event organizers.
The Christmas Market will be held at the Bakersfield Shopping Center on California Avenue near Hobby Lobby and Panera Bread.
