Updated at 6:52pm: Police said the box delivery truck was stolen from 2 Gateway Boulevard.
The suspect, identified as Caleb Fehrlein, 28, is charged with theft from a motor vehicle.
First report: A man was charged Thursday after police say he stole a delivery truck from a Chatham County Walmart and then tracked it to Richmond Hill.
Lt. Sykes of the Richmond Hill Police Department said the delivery driver left the truck and entered a Walmart in Chatham County. After a while, someone jumped in the car and drove away.
Another delivery driver witnessed the incident and followed the stolen vehicle to a Napa Auto Parts store in Richmond Hill, Sykes said.
That’s when the driver of the stolen vehicle got out of the truck and fled, Sykes said. He was taken into police custody.
Sykes said no injuries were reported and there were no injuries that he was aware of.
