Part of the Bike the Coast event, this oceanside ride travels along Highway 101 from Oceanside to Del Mar and back. This annual trek benefits the National MS Society and offers a variety of route options from 25 to 100 miles, as well as 7-mile or 15-mile routes for families, casual riders, and groups . After the finish line, enjoy delicious food, live entertainment, and a beer garden.

Test your limits at the annual Tritonman Triathlon. It is one of his few open water swim racing opportunities on the WCCTC circuit prior to the conference championships. Racers can choose from three routes, covering 34, 60, or 100 miles of winding roads through sections of the South Bay and East County. The 160-mile Gran Fondo Route takes expert cyclists east into the Alpine hills before returning to the finish line on the downtown waterfront. Padres pedal the cause.
Launched in 2021, Pedal the Cause is a multi-event cycling fundraiser hosted by the San Diego Padres and CureBound, a local cancer research organization. Participants can choose from a 25-, 55-, or 75-mile bike ride around San Diego, a 5K run/walk event through downtown, or a kids bike ride. Since this charity event began, he has raised more than $20 million for cancer research. Archipelago Bike Ride (Arch Ride for short) offers mountain bikers a scenic yet challenging ride through the foothills of San Marcos and Sorrento Valley. Choose the Half Arch Ride, a 37-mile route that starts at Black Mountain and covers 2,300 feet of elevation, or the Full Arch Ride, a 78.1-mile route that starts at San Elijo Park in San Marcos and climbs over 5,000 feet. While some may be disappointed by the lack of bike lanes on the Coronado Bridge, San Diegans have two opportunities each year to ride their bikes across the scenic Bay Bridge, starting with the Bike the Bay event. Cyclists of all skill levels can join this 40-mile Community Bike Ride, which begins at Embarcadero Marina Park across from the Gaslamp. This route crosses the Coronado Bridge, follows San Diego Bay, and passes through National City on the return trip. Don’t miss this event, as proceeds from registration will support the San Diego County Bicycle Coalition, a nonprofit organization focused on improving bicycle access and usage in the city.

Barrio Logan Grand Prix
The Barrio Logan Grand Prix, presented by the San Diego Bicycle Club, offers bikers of all skill levels a thrilling ride through the historic neighborhood. This 1.3-mile route is unlike most cycling trails, as it’s a fast-paced course with tight figure-eights for takeovers. The race begins and ends on Newton Avenue across from Perkins Elementary School. Local bike shops will be on hand, and the post-race festivities will feature plenty of Barrio Logan delicious food and drinks.
