Android App Weekly: This week’s best new apps and games
Looking for a new Android app or game to immerse yourself in? Here are some of our favorite suggestions from this week. This week he has three game and two app suggestions.
lovebrush chronicles
- price: Free with in-app purchases
- release date: October 20th
Lovebrush Chronicles is a typical dating sim/visual novel type, where the story is the main driving force. Basically you listen to a block of text and choose a response. There are some twists to this story, for example, it’s set in a multi-world, and you can essentially level up Art’s skills as you progress through the game. First of all, this is a love story game. This isn’t my personal favorite, but I definitely know someone who is into this game. In my short time playing the game, I found the story interesting enough and the game easy to get into. Please note that all audio is in Japanese, so you will need to read subtitles. The game is free, but in-app purchases are required to remove ads and more.
Shinag fighting game
- price: Free with in-app purchases
- release date: October 25th
If you’re looking for a new mobile fighting game, this one will scratch that itch. However, the game starts with a choice of two characters, although you can unlock two by completing the story mode, two by watching short video ads each, or two for purchase for $1.49 each. Please note in particular. The game also has a bit of a story, but I couldn’t get into the story mode enough during my first playthrough to piece it all together. Let’s be honest: No one plays fighting games for the story. This is just a great bonus. The important thing is the combat, and I have to say that the characters are well balanced and the touch controls work reasonably well. It took me a while to get the hang of it, but once I did, it was a lot of fun.
Apart from the story mode, there is also a competitive mode where you can fight against other players or CPUs, or watch two CPUs go head to head. Finally, Training Mode is designed to be an easier experience where you can understand your character’s special moves and learn how to become a better fighter.
Magic spear abandonment RPG
- price: Free with in-app purchases
- release date: October 23rd
To be honest, there are better idle RPGs out there, but if you’re into this type of game, this one isn’t too bad either. Basically, you can jump in and start fighting to level up. As you level up, you can unlock dungeon battles and upgrade your weapons. In my short playthrough, I found it to be a thoroughly enjoyable waste of time, but there’s nothing particularly new or innovative about the formula here.
Back: 1999
- price: Free with in-app purchases
- release date: October 26th
As you can see, we have another visual novel style game. Sure, it’s very text-heavy and you have to select options like in many graphic novels, but once you finish the story portion of the chapter, you’re thrown into an interactive battle scene. This is what you would expect from an RPG with so many different features. power combinations, etc. The story intrigued me from the beginning, but I didn’t feel that much of a rush to get through the dialogue. However, the voice acting is not very good. After looking into it, it seems that some of the translations in other languages are not bad, but the English version has a lot of broken phrases that don’t make sense, and the acting overall isn’t that impressive. Still, this is a fun game, and while the story itself is good, it’s not just about the acting.
safer watch
- price: free
- release date: October 20th
This one is a little different and is designed with safety in mind. Safer Watch allows you to easily report incidents, such as potential crimes, and receive alerts when incidents occur near you. The Live Emergency feature records incidents in real time and sends them directly to security and law enforcement agencies. It also uses GPS to provide first responders with information such as the exact location of an incident.
