LEWISBURG, Pa. — Four men are suspected of taking items valued at more than $2,000 from the Lewisburg Walmart on at least two separate occasions, hiding items in backpacks and leaving with unpaid items in carts. be.
The first incident occurred on Oct. 5 when three Cole Township men entered the store, went separate ways, and stole merchandise valued at a total of $407.41, according to Trooper Stephen Geiger of the Milton Police Department. That’s what it means.
Zachary Paul Kane, 37, entered the store from the garden center, picked up pastry items and walked out the garden center door without paying.
Guyger said in an affidavit that Robert Edward Reichwein, 39, was seen on the store’s security camera leaving the grocery store with multiple items in his backpack. wrote.
Calvin L. Delk III, 48, was seen entering the store with an empty backpack. Geiger said Delk was seen carrying several items in his backpack, including items of electronic equipment with security devices removed. Delk then allegedly walked to the front of the store and left without paying for the items. The three got into a gray Ford Edge with Florida license plates and left the property.
A few days later, on October 9, Delk and Reichwein returned to the store with Kennard Bart Baker, 37, of Shamokin. The men arrived in the same Ford Edge used during the Oct. 5 theft. The three men each got a cart and went their separate ways.
Surveillance cameras captured Reichwein removing security devices from electronic devices and placing them in his backpack, Geiger wrote. Mr. Reichwein went to his checkout counter and scanned his UPC barcode on a $1.13 item. He then packed the unpaid items into a backpack and left the store. Derrick allegedly hid the items in his backpack and left without paying. Baker was seen pushing a cart full of unpaid merchandise out the exit door. A Walmart employee asked Baker for a receipt, but he refused and walked out the door, Guyger wrote.
Geiger noted that Wal-Mart had previously issued Baker with a trespassing notice for theft at the retail store, and Baker was prohibited from entering the store.
During the Oct. 9 incident, the men took a total of $1,653.45 in merchandise, or 17 items in total, Geiger wrote.
The men were charged with retail theft, including a felony, on Oct. 9 because the amount they received exceeded $1,000.
