During the 62nd Annual Sycamore Pumpkin Festival, the lawn of the DeKalb County Courthouse at the corner of State and Main streets in downtown Sycamore will be filled with painted and decorated “Pumpkins in History.”
Activities are planned for each day of the five-day festival, from Wednesday to Sunday.
Saturday October 21
- Free pumpkins provided by the Sycamore Lions Club and Tice Farm Market will be on sale at 10 a.m. at the Wally Thurow memorial statue at Somonauk and Elm streets.
Wednesday October 25
- The Sycamore Lions Club food trailer will be open on North Maple Street from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
- The Sycamore Lions Club Pumpkin Check-in will be held from 4 to 9 p.m. on the DeKalb County Courthouse Lawn, 133 W. State St.
- Festival apparel by the Sycamore Rotaract Club will be on display at South Maple Street and State Street from 4 to 8 p.m.
- Bethel Women’s Mission will have stainless steel tumblers, bags and umbrellas available at Bethel Assembly of God, 131 W. Elm St., from 4 to 8 p.m.
- An opening ceremony and giant cake cutting will be held at 5 p.m. on Maple Street downtown. Cakes baked, decorated and donated by Hy-Vee.
- Sycamore Rotaract Club will be serving festival costumes, pumpkin custard and frozen cider in the North Food Court.
October, Thursday 26
- The pumpkin display can be viewed on the lawn of the DeKalb County Courthouse, 133 W. State St.
- The Kiwanis Club of Sycamore will host a prayer breakfast from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. at the United Methodist Church, 160 Johnson Avenue.
- The Sycamore Public Library will host a free Pumpkin Celebration with crafts, games, treats and more at 103 E. State Street from 4 to 8 p.m.
- The City of Sycamore will hold a trick-or-treat event along State Street downtown from 4:30 to 8:30 p.m.
- Sycamore Rotaract Club will be serving festival costumes, pumpkin custard and frozen cider in the North Food Court.
- The Sycamore Lions Club food trailer will be open on North Maple Street from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Friday October 27

- The pumpkin display can be viewed on the lawn of the DeKalb County Courthouse, 133 W. State St.
- The Teen Carnival will be held at Sacramento Avenue and State Street from 3 to 10 p.m.
- Kiddie Carnival (kindergarten through 5th grade) will be held in the Somonauk Street and Elm Street parking lot from 3:00 PM to 10:00 PM.
Crafts and merchandise sellers
- ABC Preschool will be selling Pumpkin Festival flags from 9 a.m. to noon in front of Paulsen Appliance and Electronics, 245 W. State St.
- The United Methodist Church will host a craft show featuring 50 crafters at the church, 160 Johnson Ave., from 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Meals are available and parking is free.
- The Royal Rangers will display Pumpkin Festival buttons, badges and hats in front of Blue Moon Bikes at 211 W. State St.
- Bethel Women’s Mission will have stainless steel tumblers, bags and umbrellas available at Bethel Assembly of God, 131 W. Elm St., from 5 to 7 p.m.
- The Kishwaukee Special Renewal Foundation will be selling koozies, beanies and candles at the North Food Court.

- The Pumpkin Parade begins at 1 p.m. The parade route follows Somonauk, Elm, California, State and Main streets. Those who require accommodations such as wheelchairs or walkers are encouraged to view the parade at the intersection of Main Street and State Street, where space is reserved.
