(FOX40.COM) — The holiday season is almost upon us, and there are several ways to get into the spirit of the season in Sacramento.
From tree lightings to light displays, here’s how Sacramento area residents can celebrate the season.

Throughout the Sacramento area, various holiday-themed trees will be decorated with several decorations.
Sacramento has two trees that light up during the holidays at the Old Sacramento Waterfront and at the Capitol.
The Old Sacramento tree will be decorated with approximately 24,000 lights, 550 icicles, 400 strobes and other specialty lights. The Capitol tree will be lit up with more than 10,000 LED lights and about 200 handmade ornaments made by children and adults with developmental disabilities.

Old Sacramento has a holiday tree and nightly entertainment with a theater of lights.
The Theater of Lights show features live productions and live plays of “Christmas Before Christmas” on the balcony above K Street in Old Sacramento.

Families in the Sacramento area can visit East Sacramento’s Fab 40 to see decorated homes, one of the city’s annual holiday traditions.
Sac Brew Bikes also offers Fab 40 tours, which allow up to 15 people to bike around the neighborhood for 90 minutes.
Another holiday tradition in the area is the holiday light display near Dovewood Court in Orangevale. The cul-de-sac has been illuminated with Christmas lights for more than 35 years, according to Visit Sacramento.
imaginarium
This holiday season, Imaginarium, the “largest holiday light festival,” will be held at the California Expo. The event begins on November 19th and runs until January 7th.
The event includes a Fairtiere Garden with 35,000 LED roses, an Enchanted Fantasyland Forest, an Infinity Mirror, a photo booth, an on-site carnival, an ice skating rink, and free daily entertainment. A circus will be held.

downtown ice rink
Ali Yousefi Square at 7th and K streets has been transformed into an ice staking rink during the winter.
The ice rink opens on November 8th and will be there until January 15th, 2024.
The Downtown Ice Rink will be open Tuesday through Thursday from 2:00 PM to 9:00 PM and Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM.

The ice rink will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Christmas Eve, and 12 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Christmas Day.
