That pothole you’ve been avoiding for the past few weeks is becoming easier to fix.
With the city’s new app called Bend Works, all it takes is a few clicks and a photo.
“It’s a great opportunity to take advantage of the technology that’s out there,” said John Condon, project management office manager for the city of Bend. “It’s been tested and it works. People are very familiar with it and it’s very fast.”
The city of Bend is being upgraded in the digital world.
Our staff is working on ways to improve our website and add a new community service request system to address issues more quickly.
“Bend Works is a new tool that allows you to submit service requests to City Bend,” Condon said. “If you have a pothole, streetlight, burnt-out, damaged, road sign, or overgrown landscape, submit a photo using our website or mobile app. In 3 or 4 easy steps Please make your request immediately and the City will provide you with updated information in response to your request.”
City Manager John Condon said the app and website should make these requests simpler and allow the city to respond more quickly.
“We really hope this community will allow for greater interaction between city officials and the community,” Condon said. “This helps the city know what’s going on in the community. It allows us to respond a little more quickly and efficiently.”
The website is already up and running.
The app will be listed in both Google and Apple’s app stores and will be available for download at the end of November.
“It’s a really great place to have an opportunity to engage with a different demographic that might not otherwise visit our website,” Condon said. “They don’t go into city facilities or make phone calls. That makes it so much easier to engage with the community.”
